2012 brings us a new album and a new web site!
Art in the Age of Progress is the latest Collective Acoustics’ record. It continues our experiments into mixing jazz, electronica, and rock into new and adventurous territory. In addition to the usual mix of organs, synths, basses and percussion we’ve added other instruments such as harpsichord, viol de gamba, and prepared drum set to the sound. We also were lucky enough to have some friends join us on this record. Matt Glassmeyer (reeds, buzzaphone), Tom Spiker (pedal steel), and Randy Kapralick (trombone) really took things to the next level. We’re looking forward to getting these songs in front of some audiences and stretching them out live.
We’ve finally gotten our act together and redid the web site. Big thanks to designer Matthew Yezuita of Virgo Ascendant for taking our random and scattered thoughts and ideas and putting them together into a cohesive design that finally ushers us into the 21st century.
Finally, much thanks to our friend Savvas Koushiappas who snapped the live photographs on the Visual page from an acoustic show in 2011.
